What is truSculpt 3D?

truSculpt 3D is an innovative, non-surgical device that uses radiofrequency technology to contour the body. After only one treatment patients have reported, on average, a 24% reduction in fat thickness.

How does the truSculpt system work?

Your body maintains a fairly consistent temperature. Even when you’re sick and suffering a fever, you only vary a few degrees from normal. When you suffer a burn, however, your tissue becomes damaged and natural healing processes begin.

The secret of the truSculpt system is the selective warming of certain tissue in your body to a point that’s beyond fever, but far short of literally burning. The target, in this case, is adipose tissue, the cells that store fat in your body. When this tissue is warmed between 5 and 10 degrees Celsius above normal body temperature, adipose cells are disrupted and the body begins to dispose of them, through the lymphatic system and bloodstream, a normal metabolic process.

Who is a good candidate for truSculpt?

Dr. Mintz will determine if you’re a good candidate for the treatment during your initial consultation. Typically, patients who will be successful with truSculpt have a BMI of 30 or lower.

How long does a single treatment take?

For a treatment that includes the abdomen and love handles, it usually takes an hour. Dr. Mintz will provide an estimated timeframe during your consultation since the length of the procedure really depends on which specific areas are being targeted.

How many treatments are needed?

Most patients see results after a single session. If you want to fine-tune the treated area or treat a different area on your body, a second session will be needed.

Does a truSculpt treatment session hurt?

No. While Dr. Mintz glides the handpiece over the targeted area, your skin temperature will rise, however you will still be comfortable. Some patients compare the feeling to a hot a stone massage.

Are there side effects?

Some patients experience slight tenderness.

How soon will I see results?

After the procedure, the treated fat cells are broken down and flushed out naturally by your body. As this happens, the circumference of the treated area is reduced. Most people notice results 6-8 weeks after their treatment session.

How long do truSculpt results last?

One of the exciting things about disrupted adipose cells is that these aren’t immediately replaced. If you’ve chosen to add truSculpt to medical weight loss with Dr. Mintz, you’ve already reduced the need for fat storage through your body, and you’ve developed lifestyle tools to continue healthy eating. Unless you experience a fast and extreme weight gain, your body has no need to replace adipose tissue.
