Do Vitamins Really Work?

Do multivitamins really work? I was recently asked to weigh in on the website PopSugar to help answer the question.  While vitamins (and minerals) are necessary for your body to work and stay healthy, normal healthy diets generally contain enough nutrients to keep your body healthy.  The thought behind supplement vitamins is that taking extra vitamins will help prevent things like heart disease and cancer.  Unfortunately, when this has been researched, the studies don't really show that multivitamins can really do that much.
